Vielschichtig, komplex – aber sehr elegant!
Fakten
Herkunft Wein/Weinbaugebiet

Meinungen
The 2001 Barolo Riserva Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe is captivating. Made in a dark, brooding style, it reveals a deeply layered personality that marries richness to depth, with generous tar, smoke, menthol, spices and sweet black cherries. As expected, it comes across as much more powerful and structured than the 2001 Vignolo tasted alongside it. Still an infant, the 2001 Vigna San Giuseppe is a wine to buy and forget about for several years if not considerably longer. It may very well be the finest Barolo Cavallotto has ever made, and it is not to be missed. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2026. 95/100 Wine Advocate Antonio Galloni
“I would be hard-pressed to name another Barolo that delivers as much pure drinking pleasure at its price point than Cavallotto’s gorgeous 2001 Barolo Bricco Boschis. It is a muscular, structured wine with deeply expressive layers of tar, menthol, spice and dark cherry flavors that flow onto the palate with notable length and substance. The Bricco Boschis can sometimes be a bit rustic, but in 2001 Cavallotto has turned out a beautiful wine that bodes extremely well for the 2001 Riservas. In a recent blind tasting that included many of the region’s top single-vineyard bottlings this wine more than held its own. It is not to be missed. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2021” 10/2006, 92/100 Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“The 2001 Barolo Riserva Bricco Boschis Vigna San Giuseppe is a great choice for readers who can be patient. Freshly cut flowers, mint, spices and violets are some of the many notes that flow from this structured, powerful Barolo. The 2001 remains virile and incredibly youthful in its personality. Sweet balsamic notes develop in the glass, adding considerable depth and nuance. The San Giuseppe is a jewel of a wine with a bright, bright future. Today it is stunningly beautiful. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2031. Cavallotto often gets lost in the shuffle among Piedmont’s elite producers. Maybe that’s because the dual flagship Riservas Vignolo and San Giuseppe are released long after most wines hit the market. Barolo lovers know better. Over the decades Cavallotto has built a sterling track record. The wines have never been better than under the leadership of siblings Alfio, Giuseppe and Laura Cavallotto. The Baroli are made in a traditional style and see extended aging in cask. The best vintages can last 30-40 years. 4/2012, 96/100 Antonio Galloni
Geschmack
